Sir/ Ma’am,

Subject- Rising Number of Road Accidents

Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the kind attention of the concerned authorities and common masses towards the Rising Number of Road Accidents.
Road safety in our country is in a pitiable state. The number of road accidents is increasing day by day. As a result, a number of unnatural deaths take place almost every day and several become physically handicapped or permanently disabled. Most accidents happen due to reckless driving. People in their hurry don’t care to follow the traffic signals. The pedestrians tend to cross the roads from anywhere they want and are in turn hit by speeding vehicles. The truck drivers, generally drunk, the young rash scooterists—all add to the number of road accidents. A few strict steps like imposing heavy fines and forfeiting the license of the offenders could stop the people from going wild on the road. Authorities need to be more stringent in issuing driving licenses. Constant checking and vigil are required.
I hope the concerned authorities and the general public will see the gravity of the matter and adopt some measures. I shall be highly obliged to you for your act of kindness of providing a little space to my views in your esteemed newspaper.

Yours sincerely
Riddhima

Subject – Absebce of Street Lights cause a number of accidents

Through the editorial column of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the kind attention of the concerned authorities regarding the absebce of Street Lights which cause a number of accidents
Kindly allow me to air through your columns one grave hazard being faced by the residents of Kanishka Co-operative Group Housing Society, Indira Nagar. There are no street lights on the main road leading to this colony. It is winter and the road gets very dark after seven in the evenings. There always remains a danger of some major accident since it is a very busy road and all sorts of vehicles and pedestrians keep going up and down the road. Often people have to go out with torches in their hands. Then it looks as if they were living in a primitive village rather than in a modern cosmopolitan city.
The residents have approached the Nagar Nigam time and again but nothing has been done so far. It is requested that proper lighting arrangements should be provided along this road so as to save the residents from any major mishap. It is hoped that these lines will help to stir the authorities to some sort of action. I shall be highly obliged to you for your act of kindness of providing a little space to my views in your esteemed newspaper.

Subject—Accidents due to Open Manholes

Kindly -allow me to air through your columns one grave hazard being faced by the residents of the Press Apartments. The main road leading to this colony has three manholes that have no cover over them.
The Manholes remain open all through the day and night. As a result, there have been frequent accidents, particularly during the dark nights. It is winter these days and the road gets enveloped in darkness after seven in the evenings. The entire area gives a ghastly look. Children and women living in the area are scared of moving out alone during the dark hours. Anti-social elements keep prowling the road looking for mischief. The residents of the area have approached the Nagar Nigam time and again but nothing has been done so far.
It is hoped that these lines would stir the authorities to some sort of action. The manholes need to be covered immediately, and proper lighting arrangements should be made along the sides of the road. I shall be highly obliged to you for your act of kindness of providing a little space to my views in your esteemed newspaper.

Sir/ Ma’am

Sub. : Increase in Road Accidents a matter of extreme comcern.

Through the column of your esteemed newspaper, I want to show my grave concern on the road accidents especially in the metropolitan cities of India. Additionally I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities and common masses regarding the life threatening passion.
The metropolitan city of Delhi has the maximum rate of road accidents. It is because the crowd and the running traffic do not follow the traffic rules. They do not respect the red signals and the policeman standing on the crossing. They drive recklessly and are often drunk. The roads have become death traps and none is safe. In fact, there is no road or highway which is immune from reckless drivers. The youngsters try to show off on the roads and try daring devil acts. They overtake from the right and left as all are in a hurry. They think they are the ‘monarchs’ of the pedestrians or the homeless people sleeping on the pavements. Even the police care little for such lapses. There are no proper sidewalls for protection. The law enforcing machinery is too slow to wake. It is in the interest of all that we should be aware of the traffic rules. While plying our vehicles we should follow the motto “Live and let live.
I shall be highly obliged to you for your act of kindness of providing a little space to my views in your esteemed newspaper.

Yours faithfully
Arun
