Jan. 28, 2000

My dear Brother,

It is long since you left us for Assam. Today you are guarding our borders. We are proud of you and of your valour.

Recently we have shifted to 224, Raja Garden, a posh colony of West Delhi. Here the houses are A-class built. They are very decent and spacious. The rent is moderate. The neighbours are rich and educated. But they are not snobbish. They are very social. They are very friendly. They have ample helpful nature. The streets are clean and tidy. They are wide. They are metalled. The motor service is very prompt and efficient. Here I have got a few good friends in such a short time.

Our new house is a three-room set. All three rooms are airy and well-ventilated. They have marble chips’ floorings. The verandah is beautifully covered and decorated. It gives a look of a palatial bungalow. The total rent including water and electricity charges is Rs. 2,000/-. Sh. H.L. Juneja is our new landlord. He is a teacher of Mathematics in some school of Sadar Bazar, a congested part of the North (Delhi). He is very gentle. He minds his own business. He does not poke his nose into the affairs of others least in the household matters of his tenants. It is his gentlemanliness which has be-friended him to one and all.

You please let us know when you are coming on long leave. We look forward to your early visit to our new house.

With love,

Your loving brother,

Atish Rana
