My dear A,

I am in receipt of your School progress report. It tells of your brilliant performance in all school subjects but ‘zero’ in physical exertion. It is a matter of great sadness.

Dear A ! You have been in the hospital for over a month. You are extremely frail and weak. You are reduced to a skeleton. You are still continuing medicine. You must observe precautions. It is said that prevention is better than cure.

You need not work very hard. You need not Mk too much your feeble body. Hard work will tell upon your health. Your fever can relapse, you can fall prey to a serious disease. You should know that nothing is more important than this life: If one is hale and hearty, he will enjoy all the blessings of life. He can enjoy books, reading, writing and achieving. But if one is ill and sick, all the charm of life ends automatically.

What is the use of being industrious and hard-working and that too at the cost of one’s health? Keep yourself free from strain and tension. Do not exert too much. Improve your health. Build your stamina. Acquire more and more physical resistance. Take plenty of exercises. Do a lot of jogging in a nearby park or garden. Eat nourishing food. Milk and fruits are the best diets. You certainly know that an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

For hard work and strenuous effort, you will have much time. Now is the time for improving health. I am sending you a bit of money. Spend it on a rich diet. Next time, I wish to see you healthy and glowing.

Your loving brother,
