Active and Passive Voice Rules and Exercises (Imperative Sentences)

IMPERATIVE SENTENCES

1.Passive Voice: Let + object + be/not be + 3rd form of the verb.

2. When the Object is not given. You are requested to/advised to/ordered to (to suit the sense) is added.

Note: The word ‘Please’ or ‘ kindly ‘ is dropped.

Active VoicePassive Voice
1. Shut the door.Let the door be shut.
2. Post the letter at once.Let the letter be posted at once.
3. Do not starve the cow.Let the cow not be starved.
 4. Always speak the truth,Let the truth always be spoken.
 5. Please do me a favour.You are requested do me-a favour.
6. Let him help his brother.Let his brother be helped by him.

Change the voice of the verbs in the following sentences:
