COSMIC MURMUR
In the din of city life
You cannot listen to the whispering murmur
of humanity–
Come with me to the sobbing forest
where the trembling trees whisper
their soul-stirring tale.
For millions of years
these now tortured trees
have been swinging merrily
hand in hand
shared life with birds and animals.
close companionship of colourful flora,
gleeful songs of lakes and rivulets.
But now
the craze for money of the hardened man
chopping and slashing the tree’s arms
have severed them from their life-long friends
These wise old deities bemoan
the fast erosion of our human habitat,
not their personal plight.
With mutual cooperation,
you can still save the universe
