The Superintendent of Police,

Aram Bagh District, Lucknow.

Sub: Growing number of thefts in the Aram Bagh Area.

Sir,

We are the residents of this unfortunate locality. No day is a day of peace and respite. We are fed up with the growing number of thefts committed every day. Every day some house or a shop is broken in. The thieves roam about in broad daylight. None dares to apprehend them. They have no fear of the law. They flout it openly. They forcibly intrude into the houses.

The local police are quite inactive. It does not take any action. Even it does not register the case. No F.I.R. is written. The complainants are turned away. They are not patiently attended to (heard). We are afraid that if this sad state of affairs goes on unchecked, the people may lose all hopes of fair play at the hands of the police. The law enforcing agencies should come forward to help the victims. Whatever we people amass (gather), by way & pay or gold jewellery or money is stolen by the thieves. After all, who will check them? The people are virtually broken. They have little faith in the local S.H.O (Station House Officer) Mr Jagbir Singh Chauhan. He has so far been miserably a failure. It is this utter hopelessness which has demoralised us badly.

In order to infuse courage and fortitude in us, it is imperative to send some strong police officer who is hard upon the thieves and goondas and very kind and gentle with the public at large. Please do the needful at the earliest.

Thanks,

Yours faithfully,
