The Health Officer,

Municipal Corporation,

Delhi.

Sir,

It gives us a rude shock to let you know that our above-named locality is a virtual hell on earth. The roads are nothing but big holes and ditches. The streets are piled up with months’ old garbage. There are heaps and heaps of squalor everywhere. People tether their cows and buffaloes in the streets. They obstruct the easy flow of the public. There are pools and pools of animal urine and cow dungs.

The flies and mosquitoes have a heyday. They have made the life of we dwellers extremely miserable. The stinking foul smell pervades everywhere. One cannot pass the streets with uncovered mouth and nose. The sweepers do not visit the area for months together.

During the rainy siziasop-the situation becomes all the grimmer. The dirty water overflows. The manholes are uncovered. They can be as dangerous as death itself. A few children have already been badly hurt. We have knocked at the doors of the local city-father to take some preventive measures, but he has failed badly.

Now it is as an ultimate resort that we approach you through this letter to redress our grievances at the earliest. You are requested to make a personal visit to the area and see the apathy of the sweepers and the allied services with your own eyes. One fails to understand how people live in the heart of the Capital of India.

Thanks,

Yours faithfully,
