Write a letter to your local transport manager that there are insufficient buses on your route in the morning and they are always late, too.

The Manager,

D.T.C. (Delhi Transport Corporation),

Scindhia House, New Delhi.

Sir,

We are regular commuters of D.T.C. buses from Srinagar to Sadar Bazaar. We come here to study in local schools. We are more than 100 D.T.C. pass holders. But we are very sorry to point out that we have been put to a lot of hardship right from the first day of the current session. We are late every day for school. When in reality we are not at fault. It is the D.T.C. which should be penalised and not we innocent boys. Besides absence fine, we are caned and insulted every day. Now it has become a routine affair. But why does the D.T.C. not own its responsibility? Why does it shrug its shoulders from such an important job?

This malady is due to an insufficient number of buses on the route. Either the D.T.C. buses are sent to pick up children of Public Schools or they have been withdrawn for some other important route. It is for you to see, sir, where the problem exists. If at all, any bus comes, it is over-crowded. It does not accommodate poor school going, children. They stand for hours at the stop waiting for the next bus to arrive. It comes after 8.00 a.m. It reaches Sadar Bazar at 9.00 or so. After one hour it is recess time of the school.

The D.T.C. buses are quite insufficient. The men who operate it are self-willed and haughty. They misbehave with the public. The late-plying buses prove very vexing and irritating. You are requested to look into our gravest problem and find out an early satisfactory solution.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,
